EPA Requirements Lead Certification

Lead poisoning presents a serious health threat to you and your family — especially children under six years old. If you own or rent a home built before 1978, or if your children attend a school or childcare facility built before1978, you need to take special precautions whenever repairing, remodeling or repainting these buildings, whether inside or outside. Old lead-based paints (banned after 1978) can be disturbed, leaving behind dangerous dust, paint chips or residue. Contractors who are specially trained and certified can prevent dangerous lead contamination — make sure the contractor hired to work on your home or your children’s school or childcare facility is lead-certified and provides you with important information you need to know. Protect your family — and your investment — and let a certified home improvement contractor renovate, remodel or repaint these buildings.

For more information about the health effects of exposure to lead, Visit the website at  http://www.epa.gov/getleadsafe or call 1-800-424-LEAD (5323)

Work Requiring a Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) Registration or Construction Supervisor License (CSL)

Remodeling your home can be a rewarding decision. Finding and hiring a licensed and registered contractor may allow you to avoid any undesirable experiences while remodeling. If you have a problem with the registered contractor you’ve hired the Home Improvement Contractor Law has a program for resolving disputes and the Guaranty Fund can assist with unpaid judgments against registered home improvement contractors.

JR’s Home Improvement takes great pride in being a licensed contractor.
